He has earned 24 merit badges over his Scouting career, along with two religious awards. The first was the St. George medal earned during Cub Scouts and the second was the Chi-Rho medal earned during Boy Scouts.

Olevnik completed his freshman year of college at Penn State Erie where he plans to major in mechanical engineering. During his tenure at Abington Heights High School, he was an honor roll student. He was a member of the marching and concert bands where he played saxophone. In 2010, he was presented with a Silver Key award during The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards for artwork submitted by his art teacher. Olevnik is current taking part in an internship at PennDOT, working in theengineering department for the summer.

Olevnik’s Eagle Project was the installation of 30 identification cards around the trees on the grounds of the Waverly Community House. He led a group of Scouts and adults to place the cards which were mounted to three-foot medal stakes. His work with the Waverly Community House on this project prompted the board of directors to award him as Volunteer of the Year in 2014.
