Scranton Prep was the only team to have three players break 100 Aug. 19 in the Ann Marie Simons Classic at Honesdale Golf Club, allowing the Classics to edge Abington Heights by three strokes for the team title.

The tournament for Lackawanna League girls golfers was renamed this year in honor of the Wallenpaupack athletic director, who died earlier this year.

Chloe Lynch from Scranton Prep and Brianna Moffat from Abington Heights each shot 94 overall to tie for the second-best score behind the 87 put up by medalist Lyla Jones from North Pocono. Lynch took the second-place award over Moffat on a match of cards.

There were 10 schools entered with enough players to create a team score of the best three scores. Seven other schools had individual entries, forming a field of 63 total players.

Leah Skudalski shot 97 and Sophia Galko 98 to complete the Scranton Prep team score of 289.

Abington Heights shot 292. Kate Peters had a 98 and Margot Grad 100.

After the top three individuals, the low score in each grade was also recognized.

Grad won the low freshman award.

North Pocono was third with 297, followed by: Holy Cross 317, Forest City 319, Riverside 325, Valley View 341, Elk Lake 342, Blue Ridge 347, Old Forge 349,

Lackawanna Trail had just two entries. Sabrina Rogalla shot 104.
