1967 — Members of a local Rotary club toured the Hickory Hill Farm in Dalton.

“When the Clarks Summit Rotary Club visited Bert Linder’s thoroughbred horse farm last Thursday, they saw the seven yearling colts raised this year in their best condition,” read the Journal’s front page.

“The colts are a week away from being sold for the annual racing horse auction in Saratoga and Hickory Hill Farm, one name of the Linder Dalton operation, had the racing horses-to-be in the best possible physical condition.

“Alex Fowble, the farm manager who has been around horses 40 years, explained the steps and requirements that led to the final step of the year’s business, the selling of the yearlings.”
